Infomart Data Centers begins an aggressive plan to make the iconic Dallas building the preeminent hub for data center connectivity in the Central United States
DALLAS – June 23, 2015 – Infomart Data Centers, a national wholesale data center provider, has completed commissioning of 3 megawatts of turnkey capacity in the Infomart building, located at 1950 Stemmons Freeway in Dallas. This new supply, designed to Tier III standards, represents the first of several phases for this site, ultimately supplying over 500,000 square feet of data center space and more than 40 megawatts of additional critical IT power to the building within the next decade.
Infomart Dallas has long been a leading national center for connectivity, hosting some of the world’s most trusted colocation providers. Following its merger with Silicon Valley-based Fortune Data Centers last October, Infomart Data Centers now extends this legacy with a new class of inventory for the hub. The 3 megawatt, 24,000-square-foot suite, operated by Infomart, is the first wholesale data center space in the building.
“Our first wholesale suite in Dallas differentiates itself by tapping the region’s most connected network. Everyone connects to the Internet through our Dallas facility. All of the major carriers are interconnected here. Every application hosted here will have a performance edge,” said John Sheputis, president of Infomart Data Centers. “This is the first step to making Infomart Dallas the most connected, valuable and strategically positioned data center facility in the country.”
Infomart invested nearly $40 million to build and optimize the data center within the 1.6-million-square-foot building and meet customer demand for reliable data center capacity in a highly connected, secure and efficient environment. The first wholesale data center suite features an adjacent carrier-neutral Building Meet-Me-Room (BMMR) for seamless connectivity, 24/7 responsive engineering support and power costs at rate, without mark up.
“Connectivity and consistency are the currency of our industry. Infomart customers expect 100-percent uptime and around-the-clock service. We’re building out Dallas to meet the same stringent standards as our other facilities across the country, including an initiative to achieve SSAE 16, LEED Gold, PCI DSS and HIPAA certifications, as well as Uptime Institute’s M&O Stamp of Approval within a year,” Sheputis said. “We’re pleased to launch our wholesale data center capacity as demand for superior connectivity and storage in North Texas continues to grow.”
